OUR APPROACH Righting Trade uses stories and analysis to describe how policymakers try to achieve trade and human rights objectives. We traveled to four countries (Brazil, India, South Africa, and the USA) as well as the European Union, to examine perceived conflicts and opportunities. We also examined what member states do at the WTO to reconcile their trade and human rights objectives. Finally, we develop some conclusions about how countries can work to achieve their trade and human rights objectives at home and abroad.
OUR GOALS We aim to: - provide readers with greater insights into the relationship between human rights and trade
- help policymakers do a better job of governing globalization, and
- facilitate and foster dialogue about the relationship between trade and human rights, among activists, scholars, and policymakers and the general public.
